Private chalet

The project is located in the heart of the old village of Montana, a stone’s throw from the slopes of the renowned ski resort of Crans-Montana.
The plot once housed a small house that had been abandoned for several years and had no real heritage value for the village. Next to it, a barn dating back to the last century bore witness to the local history.

The existing house was demolished to make way for a new, contemporary chalet, in order to create a high-quality, contemporary project.
However, the barn was preserved and integrated into the overall concept, in order to maintain the authenticity and charm of the heart of this small village. It has been redesigned to house both the garage and the technical room for the new building.

As the two buildings are quite distinct, they have been linked by a modern passageway built around the main stairwell, the real centrepiece of the project.
This stairwell, suspended in the void, serves the three levels of the main chalet, offering a unique architectural experience.

The upper floor, located on the same level as the garage, houses the main living areas under a magnificent, old-fashioned carpentry framework, giving the room a pleasant volume.
There is a vast lounge with an elegant central fireplace, a large open-plan kitchen and a convivial dining room.

The middle floor is entirely given over to bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, guaranteeing both comfort and privacy for the occupants and their guests.

Finally, the lower floor is dedicated to leisure and relaxation. It includes a sumptuous wine cellar, a kitchen and dining room, a billiards room, a hammam, as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and a pétanque court on the terrace.

Each floor benefits from large outdoor areas, offering spectacular views of the Valaisan Alps and the Rhone Valley as far as Leuk.
